How do I get verified?
All newly created PayPal accounts come with limits on how much you can spend. In order to lift these limits, you will need to add a bank account & verify this account.
Just as banks verify the identity of their customers, the Verification process helps to keep the PayPal community safe, especially when you have to pay people you don’t know.
The Verification process is done by attaching a bank account. Once you’ve done this, PayPal will give you 2 small deposits which you can keep. This can take between 3 -5 days, and you should log into your internet banking during this time or check your next paper statements. Look for 2 small deposits from PayPal – they are usually under $1. Make a note of these two amounts and confirm what they are back on the PayPal website. This proves you have access to the bank account.
Get verified in 7 simple steps…
1. To add a bank account, simply login to your PayPal account and head to the “Account Overview” page. Place the mouse over the “Profile” section & you will have the option to “add a bank account”. You can also do this from your account overview page by selecting the “Get verified” option.
2. To add a bank account, enter the country, bank name, account number, and BSB number.
3. Please double check to make sure the BSB & bank account numbers are correct and that the name of the bank matches exactly the name used for your PayPal account. Then, review your information and select “Add bank account”.
4. To begin the verification process return to your PayPal account overview page & select “Get verified”.
5. Then select “confirm bank”.
6. You will then need to enter the 2 amounts which you’ve seen that PayPal deposited into your bank account and select “submit”.
7. Once you have confirmed the random deposits your PayPal account will be fully verified, and your spending limits will be successfully increased or lifted!
